Upcoming Summer Competition
The next summer competitions at SA Athletics Stadium will be on Wednesday 22 February with Program A2 events (handicap) and on Wednesday 1 March with Program B1 events (scratch). See the Competition Formats page for full details.
Competition on 22 February will also include the Men’s and Women’s Steeplechase Championship event at 5.15pm.

Entries for the Steeplechase can still be made beforehand, and members intending to compete in these events must have let John Hore know by the Tuesday afternoon before the competition (his full contact details are on the Committee page).
There will be no entries on the day*****

Competition on 1 March will include the Women’s T&F Pentathlon event at 5.30pm (sign-in 5.15pm). Entries for this event must be made by Wednesday 22 February.

State Masters Athletics Championships
Full details of all upcoming State Masters Athletics Championships events are available on the Competition Formats page.

Competitors must nominate by the preceeding week for all championships (apart from the Main T&F Championships). Sheets are available at the check-in desks at the stadium.

Social News
The next Friday Night Dinner will be on 10th March, 7pm at the Rex Hotel, Richmond.
All welcome, but BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.

This year's Weekend away will be at Mannum Caravan Park, Mannum from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October 2017.

Club Uniforms
SAMA now has a new range of uniforms available to purchase on-line via local Adelaide store Sports Centre. Note that previous stocks of uniform are still available and have been heavily discounted.

See the Uniform page for information on purchase of all your uniform needs. Note that the wearing of the club uniform is compulsory for all SAMA members competing in the Darwin Nationals in June 2017. Plan ahead!

2 Jetties Fun Run / Bay Sheffield 2016
Photos taken by Ros Lowe, Richard Everson and Lyn Peake at the 2 Jetties Fun Run from Glenelg Jetty to Brighton Jetty and back can be viewed via the Special Events page. Result sheets from the event are are also available for viewing on that page.

Nationals 2016 - final wrap
All Results have been finalised and a Results Book has been produced that contains a complete set of results for the Championships, and also the outcomes for all the special Awards made, plus new Australian records and Championship records that were achieved. About South Australian Masters Athletics

 

SA Masters Athletics (SAMA) was founded in 1971 as the SA Veterans Athletic Club and caters for men and women aged 30 years and above.  While membership is restricted to those over 30, children or grandchildren of members are most welcome to compete with us, as are members of ASA. Only members are eligible for Championships, trophies and prizes.

The main aim of the Club is to provide an ongoing competition program for mature age athletes and to especially cater for people of all athletic abilities.

We meet all year round on a weekly basis, with summer competition each Wednesday evening at SA Athletics Stadium, and each Saturday afternoon during the winter season. Each season (summer and winter), we conduct Championship events which are age graded based on 5 yearly age increments.   Medallions for age group winners and place getters are presented at end of season presentations.

SAMA is affiliated with Australian Masters Athletics Inc and promotes the many Masters Athletics events held throughout Australia and the world.
