Masters Athletics
SA Masters Athletics (SAMA) caters for men and women athletes aged 30 years and above. The main aim of the Club is to provide an ongoing competition program for mature age athletes in South Australia for people of all athletic abilities.
You will find a varied program of Running, Walking and Field events conducted throughout most of the year. Some events are handicapped which encourages athletes of all abilities. Everyone is welcome to come and try.

Our editor Ann Jefferies has produced another great issue, containing everything you need to know about what’s happening in the Club and in Masters Athletics.
This issue covers the 2024 AGM & Awards Night Celebration (introducing our new Committee), the 2023/24 SAMA Athletics Award winners, profiles of our notable athletes, reports on the outstanding performances of our members at the Oceania Masters Athletics Championships in Fiji, recent local results (Copper Coast SA Masters Games and SAMA Winter Championships) and records, and all you need to know about upcoming events.
SAMA AGM / Awards Night
The SAMA AGM / Awards Night was held at the Kensington Hotel, on Friday 21 June 2024.
One of those departing the committee after many years of service in a variety of key roles, including President, was David Bates. David’s many years of service was acknowledged at the AGM with him being awarded Life Membership of SAMA.
During the Awards Night, the winners of the 2023-24 SAMA Athletics Awards were presented with their trophies and two new inductees into the SAMA Hall of Fame were announced.
SAMA 2024/25 Committee
Following the Annual General Meeting held on 21st June 2024, SAMA now has a new Committee again headed by Viddy Jermacans as President. Their full details can be found on the Contact Page of the SAMA website.
