AMA / SAMA Special Event – 20km Walk Championships

Week 15 of SAMA winter competition with Special Events to be held at Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms (Park 20), Peacock Road, Adelaide including the following events:

WalksAMA 20km Road Walk Championships and 20km SAMA Walk State Championships at 10.00am. There will be SAMA Championships for both Race Walkers and Club Walkers. Other distance on offer – 8km & 4km at 11.00am.

Runs – 10km 11.30am, 4km & 2km 11.45am (all scratch) .

The SAMA Winter Championships are for all members, and we encourage you to enter. Entries for these Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register.

AMA 20km Road Walk Championships

All entries for the AMA Championships must be submitted prior to the event on the Entry Form by the closing date.

The AMA Championships also allows for postal entries – see the AMA website for details.

Other States and Territories are encouraged to conduct their races between the dates of August 10th and September 8th . The World Championships 20km Walk in Sweden on the 25th of August also qualifies as a postal event for the AMA Championships (an entry must still be made!)

Entries close on Sunday 18th August for all entrants or 3 days before an Interstate race held earlier than the 18th.

State Masters Athletics Championships – General Information

Various Winter Championships are held throughout the Winter Season. They are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. NB. Only financial members can enter championship events.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register.

They are run basically as per our normal competition but results are determined by 5 year age groups and this means you will competing against those in your age group. A Certificate is awarded to all participating entrants, showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events.
