AMA / SAMA Half Marathon Championships – SAMA 15km Walk Championships

Week 11 of SAMA winter competition with Special Events to be held at Park 19, Glen Osmond Road, Adelaide including the following events:

Walks15km SAMA Walk State Championships at 1.15pm. There will be SAMA Championships for both Race Walkers and Club Walkers. Other distance on offer – 8km 2.00pm, 4km & 2km 2.30pm.

RunsSAMA Half-Marathon State Championships at 1.00pm. Other distance on offer – 8km 2.15pm, 4km & 2km 2.30pm.

The Half-Marathon race is eligible for the 2024 AMA Postal Half-Marathon Championships.
NB. All competitors are responsible for registering for these Postal Championships and for submitting their own results (see the AMA website for details).

The Winter Championships are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register.

Half-Marathon course      – 1lap x 1.1km & 10 laps x 2km (Out-and-Back Loops)

15km Walk course           – 1lap x 1.0km & 7 laps x 2km (Out-and-Back Loops)

State Masters Athletics Championships – General Information

Various Winter Championships are held throughout the Winter Season. They are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. NB. Only financial members can enter championship events.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register.

They are run basically as per our normal competition but results are determined by 5 year age groups and this means you will competing against those in your age group. A Certificate is awarded to all participating entrants, showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events.

Refreshments at Winter Competitions
The social aspect of our competitions is important, and SAMA will be providing afternoon tea on Relay Days.
However, for other weeks an organised afternoon tea at the end is not practicable. Instead participants are encouraged to bring their own refreshments on these days to be consumed when convenient.
COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY MUST BRING THEIR OWN WATER BOTTLES
